OUR COURSES

This course develops the business writing skills of job-seekers and working professionals. Participants engage in targeted exercises focusing on the development of clear and concise text. The program reviews basic grammar, writing style(s) and structure, critical thinking, and editing skills. Write for Business can be delivered on-site or via web-based technologies.

Interviewing Skills

8081151_sStudents and job-seekers learn how to quickly and thoughtfully answer difficult questions. Participants rehearse how to educate a potential employer about workplace adaptations, accommodations, and assistive technology. Participants practice effective self-presentation and self-advocacy skills. Virtual role plays and constructive feedback are essential tools of this program.

New York State Commission for the Blind’s Pre-College Program

Echoes Instructional is pleased to join the New York State Commission for the Blind for a multi-year Pre-College Program. Participants will spend their summer vacation on campus immersed in a simulated college experience. All students will join Echoes Instructional Design for online Writing and Technology courses developed and taught by our professors. Contact your NYCB counselor for more information.

Developmental Writing Seminar

14748978_sQ. Which college classes are often described as  frustrating, time-consuming, and costly by students, parents, and counselors alike?

A: Non-credit bearing remedial English class

The Developmental Writing Seminar is designed specifically to assess and remediate the writing skills of sponsored clients who are applying to college, before they take their placement exam.
